Get what you want- Results!

Hey!
Me chiilin' on the beach
Welcome back! I know it's been a week or 2 since I last posted, but I've had good reason why I've not been around.

I am truly blessed! Firstly to have super people like you reading my blog and sharing it with your friends, also  I'm lucky enough to have a special person in my life who took me away to Portugal for a few days 'required' rest. It was awesome- not as in a wild partying kind of way, it was just what the doctor ordered; Hot, relaxing and rejuvenating. I realize now that as much as i love my work, helping great people like you to feel and look better, it's important to take time out and switch off. I recommend it. If you haven't taken any "time out" from your work In the last 8-10 weeks, do it! you feel much better for it.

I wrote this short post because I want to let you know about the secret most Personal trainers and industry professionals fail to remember or oversea with their clients and that's RESULTS!
Trainer Helping Woman With Squat ExerciseI spoke in my last blog post(check it out here) about the importance of getting the correct advice from a pro. There is no hiding that the fact that pro's will have the better skills and knowledge to get you where you want to go and help you achieve your desires.  As professionals though, our main focus should be on helping you achieve and get results. I myself in the past have focused too much on the process and failing to get clients real results. I use to focus too much on the exercise technique, breathing, posture, reps and all kinds of other technical aspects of the teaching exercise without getting them what they want and that's to feel and see a change! Results is the name of the game; if we are failing to help you, the paying client get what you want, we need to rethink what it is we are doing with our clients and change what we are doing.

Now, how we get those results and help you achieve your goals is specific to the individual and we could debate about the best way to achieve results all day, however regardless of what your said goal is we should be focused on helping you get there and if we cant help we should feel no shame is referring you to another professional who can.

As I mentioned its all about results and if I feel that a client is better served by completing a course of Yoga or seeing a Pilates instructor for some one to one tuition rather than doing a group personal training session, it will better for the client and better for me in the long run. At Optimum Health pts our range of classes cater to all abilities so anyone participating will get the correct advice and help the move towards there goals. Check out our classes Pilates here.

Here are 5 tips to help you get those results.

1. Be Consistent- Keeping committed to the cause and forming a habit of regular exercise is KEY
2. Train with a friend or partner- Exercising alone can be a bore. Training with someone or other people makes it so much more fun and easier! Click here to learn about the best group exercise sessions.
3. Keep it simple- don't fall into the trap of doing too much too quickly. steadily progress your exercises
4. Ask Questions- Always ask if you are not sure. Speak to your trainer or instructor about anything you're not quite sure about.
5. Monitor your progress- You should have some form of record of what progress you're making. Recap and review is a great way to keep motivated and on track to your results!
