Mind set

Hey! How you doing?


I'm fresh after my week away in Portugal I cant go any further in this post without saying thanks to you, all the Optimum Health clients & Members. Without your custom and support, i could not have enjoyed the holiday s much as I did. Also, A BIG THANK YOU to my girlfriend who 'persuaded' me to take the break (note to self- listen to her more often!).

Anyway, it was awesome! Just what the doctor ordered. I'm not going to go into all the details, but I've mentioned in a previous post the importance of taking "time out" once in a while and I'll say it again, every once in a while - chill out!

Whilst away I did get chance to read and do some thinking and I'd like to share some of those thought with you.

I can't underestimate the positive effect of being in a nice relaxed environment, and how this helps your mind. We are all busy people and it is so easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of life leaving us little time to think. If there is one thing I have come to understand in my two short years of running a business, is that you need time to think. Not just every day thinking like "I must remember to write out the shopping list" or "I must book my hair appointment" I mean real deep thought about our actions,where we are going and what we really want in life.

It sounds quite serious, but it is. Many of us drift from day to day without any real attention to what we are doing or thinking. But It's important to remember that if you are going to achieve anything in life you need to apply a little thought, if not, plenty of thought.

If your goal is to shed some weight, get stronger or improve your posture, you must THINK.." How am i going to do this?" "do i need help" and "where can i get help from?" these are just some of thought you may have. Then, we must think about putting into "action" what we know. That maybe the advice from and expert or tips from a book. But most importantly you must think and see yourself as the person you wish to be.  If that is  YOU, a stone lighter, or YOU a bit more toned, or YOU  living pain free and with good posture, YOU must SEE yourself as that person. It may sound a little strange, but it's a very important factor when you looking to achieve anything- big or small!

The Importance of visualisation is very important. we have just seen the best of British giving their all to win medal and success. I'm sure every single one of those athletes will have, at some point, visualised and SEEN themselves crossing the line first or getting the best score or swimming as fast as they can. Your mind is a powerful tool and when used correctly it WILL help you achieve anything.

This post is not about the power of the mind,( save that one for another time) but I have put it together to help you start to 'think' about what you 'think' about. Young or old thinking is important and how YOU think will effect your ability to achieve.

I was recommended some books to help me and my thinking.... 

Here are the books I took away to read. These books are great. If you're wanting to get some motivation or feel better about your life's direction, These are must reads. They have helped me raise my understanding and highlight the importance of thinking in a certain way and I'm sure they will do the same for you.
