Motivation

Hey Guys, how you doing hope all is well and you are feeling great.

We have been blessed over that last few weeks with some nice weather and I hope you have had chance to go out and enjoy some of it. It's been a LONG  winter but is look's like we can chill out for the next 12 weeks with some warmer weather and maybe even some more sunshine!

If you  felt like the majority of the British public, you will not have needed  much encouragement to get outdoors and get some of the sun on your back. I know the sun was out, but i forgot how little motivation people here in the UK need to get their clothes off!! The weather has been quite warm, but that didn't stop some folk from wearing the full beach attire just to do some shopping at Sainsbury's!!!  each to their own i suppose, as long as they are happy who am i to judge?
It got me thinking though about what motivates us and what get us to behave in certain ways. Motivation is a key part to achieving anything in life, especially when it comes to improving your fitness and leading a healthier life. But what can we do to help keep motivated? It can become so easy to lose motivation - we can get distracted or even disheartened when we step out to achieve something; this may be to shed some pounds, improve our eating habits, cut down on the amount of alcohol we drink, these are all goals and achievements many of us can relate to but, keeping the focus to get them is often easier said than done.
But worry not, i have listed for you some simple steps that you can apply to help keep you motivated and right on track!!
1. Take Small Steps.
The government's 'change 4 life' campaign has really helped many people focus on becoming more active and investing time in being more healthier and eating better. They really push home the message of making just small changes that are easy and will help in keeping on tract to becoming fitter and stronger. The same applies when it comes to keeping motivated. Set yourself small goals like cutting down on the amount of glasses of wine each week or doing an extra 5 Min's exercise each week. They may not seem like a big deal , but when you see yourself achieving, you will keep motivated and striding towards your goals!
2. Hire a Pro!
This is a no  brainer! yes of course I'm going to endorse hiring a Personal Trainer. Why? Because any personal trainer worth their salt will be motivating you all the way to your goals and beyond! Exercise can be frustrating if you are not doing it correctly and you're not seeing results. Working with a pro trainer who is NOT just going to count reps, shout at you and chat about how cool they are, will keep you motivated, inspired and focused and of course get you results!

3.Do It together
You know doing most things with someone else is much more fun. Shopping, holidays, drinking to excess,( my bad) they are all better enjoyed when done in the company of other people. Exercise is no exception. You  ever wondered why classes such as indoor spin, Zumba fitness, are phenomenal successes? Because they have great exercise content AND all have a group or social pull. If you are wanting to keep your motivation high, try exercising in a group or with friends or family. We are all social animals by nature being in a group or part of a community will always help you moving towards  your goals.
